What can I expect when I send you my glove?
We start working on your glove immediately. The break-in process can take between 4-7 days. When complete and your glove is returned to you, it will be what we call "Practice-ready" This means an easy close and with some time at practice and playing catch, your glove will mold to your hand and your style of play.
Why is my glove so stiff and hard to break-in?
Every glove and manufacturer is different, and some gloves can take longer to get fully game-ready. Today's professional level gloves are made with high end select leather that comes off the shelf very stiff, and makes it hard to just "grab it and play catch, you will be fine!" Just playing catch with these types of gloves can make the leather and hinges break in places and ways that are not good. This can cause the palm to bubble and make your investment hurt instead of help you on the field. A quick steam or time in the hockey skate oven at stores will also not get a glove started off the way you need. The more expensive the glove, the stiffer the leather can be but that also means that once broken in properly, the glove should last a very long time before getting too soft.
